She is an inspired, multi disciplined artist whose work can be seen at \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.jackietraverse.com\/\"\u003ehttps:\/\/www.jackietraverse.com\/\u003c\/a\u003e.  The fabrics have colours that are so vibrant and saturated that they are hard to photograph and do them justice.  Truly beautiful designs.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Birch Bark Biting design is by Cree Artist Pat Bruderer (Halfmoon Woman).  \u003cmeta charset=\"UTF-8\"\u003eA birch bark biting is a unique piece of Indigenous artwork. It is made by biting an image, using only the teeth, into a thin, single layer of birch bark from the birch tree.  Birch bark bitings were used as a means to create bead work patterns on clothing and moccasins, to share stories and to record ceremonies. Birch bark biting is an extremely rare skill in modern times, and the rarity of the art form makes them even more special.  The artist begins by peeling a thin strip of birch bark from a birch tree.
