Entering this year, we had a desire to feel as though we were moving forward on all levels. In life, work, creatively… and out of this came Avance, a sweater that took our breath away from the beginning and had us loving every stitch. This is truly a project that reinvigorated our creative mojo and had us wanting to bring this joy to the world.
Knit from the bottom up, Avance starts with a simple but beautiful colourwork pattern in the round that goes up to the armhole. At this point you switch to a single colour and work the front and back separately. Short rows give gentle shaping to the shoulders before joining them and working the collar. Sleeve stitches are then picked up and worked in the round with the same pattern as the body. We give you two choices for the cuff, either with or without decreases.

5.5 mm circular needles 32” long or longer
4.5 mm circular needles for ribbing 16” long or longer for magic loop
4.0 mm circular needles 9” long or longer for magic loop or DPN’s for sleeve cuff

MC: 7 (8, 10) balls/CC: 4 (5, 6) balls

100% Peruvian Highland Wool, 100g (3.5oz), 200m (220 yds)
MC: 4 (5, 5) skeins/CC: 2 (2, 3) skeins
GAUGE: 16 sts x 20 rows = 4” (10cm) over chart pattern using 5.5mm needle (or whichever needle size you need to achieve gauge). Take time to do a colourwork swatch in the round.
